Senior Leadership Teams Tilt White and Male

The first analysis examined the top role at 37 major and independent companies (e.g., CEOs, Presidents). This revealed that 86.8% of top executives were men (13.2% women) and 92.1% were White (7.9% underrepresented). All 3 non-White top executives ran independent companies, and 2 (5.3%) were women of color. Overall, 84.2% of top leadership roles were held by white men. In comparison to 2021, there was no increase in the percentage of senior executives who were women, people of color, or women of color in these roles– in fact, the percentage of underrepresented top executives decreased.
