Rising Exit Pressure in the Swedish Music Industry

According to the survey, 29.7% of all respondents have considered leaving the music industry within the past 12 months. This tendency is particularly pronounced among certain groups: 35.8% of women, 37.6% of individuals with a migrant background, and as many as 40.5% of people with disabilities reported thinking about stepping away from the sector. In contrast, 26.5% of men said they had considered leaving.

The most commonly cited reasons for wanting to exit the industry were economic insecurity (65.4%), a lack of career opportunities (35.9%), and experiences of discrimination or exclusion (24.4%).
