Sonia Allori
Sonia Allori is a Scottish/Italian deaf and disabled composer, performer, writer, researcher, and music therapist based in the Scottish Highlands. Her work centres on inclusive, deaf and disability-led performance using multi-sensory aesthetics, treating access tools such as creative captioning, integrated BSL, and vibrotactile sound as artistic materials rather than afterthoughts. She has received commissions from organisations such as Drake Music Scotland, Illuminate Women’s Music, and Sound and Music. She is currently writing a deaf-led musical, performs with the Sonic Bothy ensemble, and is undertaking practice-based research at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
“Being selected for Keychange feels like a timely nudge at a moment when my work is shifting. I’m excited to connect with curious people who share ideas, challenge assumptions, and question how things work. I’m hoping to leave with new collaborators, stronger leadership skills, and the confidence to develop inclusive work on a bigger scale.”
