The analysis of Grammy Award nominees covers 6 major categories: Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist, Producer of the Year, and Songwriter of the Year. In 2025 there were 178 Grammy nominees overall. Of these, 77.3% were men and 22.7% were women. One gender non-conforming/non-binary individual was nominated in 2025. This is a ratio of 3.4 men nominated to every 1 woman nominee. 2025 was not different than 2024 (24%), however, 2025 is still significantly higher than the percentage of woman nominees in 2013 (7.9%). 2021 remains the year with highest percentage of women nominees (28.1%). Across 13 years, women comprised 15.2% of all nominees across major Grammy® categories.

Women were most likely to be nominated for Song of the Year (29.6%) and Best New Artist (46.5%) across all 13 years. They comprised the least number of nominations for Album of the Year (11.2%) and Record of the Year (12.3%). While a new addition was made in 2025, women still trail significantly in nominations for Producer of the Year (2.9%). Since its introduction in 2023, women now comprise 57.1% of all nominations for Songwriter of the Year. Underrepresented women nominees comprised 46% of all women nominees, while white women comprised 54%. For the second year in a row, underrepresented women saw a significant decrease in nominations. In 2025, underrepresented women comprised 32.5% of all women nominees compared to 2024 (36.6%). The conclusion of the report contains solutions for change to increase the number of women participating at the highest level of the music industry.
