Nina Himmelreich

Nina Himmelreich is a Munich-born, Liverpool-based musician, researcher, organiser and educator working towards gender equity in the music industry. She is currently pursuing a PhD, examining gender inequality in the German music industry; her research was featured in the 2024 Keychange Report. Nina co-founded MusicSeen, a grassroots organisation supporting Liverpool’s music ecosystem. She also works as a researcher on the Live Music Mapping Project and sits on the MusicFutures EDI Advisory Panel. Alongside this, she performs as a bassist with Broken Down Golf Cart, manages Munich-based band Erleuchtung und Rufo, and hosts her monthly radioshow Plattenschatz im Schattenplatz on FlorrieRadio.

I am a big fan of Keychange and its work within the music industry and therefore so excited and honoured to be part of the 2026 Keychange Talent Leadership Programme.
I deeply value the opportunity to work with likeminded people towards a more equitable music industry, continue my own growth and learning and expand my network within the creative industries, particularly within a FLINTA environment!
