Hildur
Hildur is a songwriter and producer from Reykjavík, Iceland, known for her catchy melodies, honest lyrics and clever production. After releasing 2 EP’s in 2017 and 2019, she released her long-awaited self produced debut album “Afturábak” on January 1st 2025. On the album she goes back to her indie roots mixing them with electronic influences while still keeping her signature pop melodies, resulting in a heartfelt, raw and emotional soundscape reminiscent of Kate Bush and Christine and the Queens. After starting her music journey as a teenager in the indie band Rökkurró, as the singer/cellist and touring around Europe, she then took a U-turn into the world of pop. With the release of her first solo single "I'll Walk With You” in 2016 she instantly hit the top of the Icelandic radio charts and received the Icelandic Music Award for pop song of the year, so her pop career started with a bang. Soon after that she started an international career of songwriting and producing for other artists. She has also worked on music for big advertisements in Iceland as well as had her songs featured on TV shows and in films. Hildur has also been known for using her platform to speak up and empower other female artists as well as fighting for musicians rights by sitting as a board member in the Composers’ Rights Society of Iceland, STEF, and in the Icelandic songwriters association, FTT. She has also taught songwriting and creative thinking in various schools and occasions for the last 8 years, focusing on sparking creativity and self empowerment.
