Friday Figures - 1 Dec

Whilst we continue to interrogate intersectional angles in the music industry, the socio-economic question is one that can be challenging to define and quantify and we must look to the contexts and definitions in which it is understood. Income isn’t the only marker and there are layered class codes embedded in the infrastructure that we operate in. For the first time in its Diversity Report 2022, UK Music put this to their respondents in their own words. Interestingly only one fifth of respondents answered the social class question. What does the social class landscape look like in your country? Are there clear ways of measuring this for progress? Let us know in the comments! And in the meantime, remind yourself of the Diversity Report 2022, here.
