COVID-19: AN UPDATE FOR KEYCHANGE SIGNATORIES

IT’S SAFE TO SAY THAT 2020 HAS NOT GOTTEN OFF TO THE START THAT WE HOPED FOR, OR EXPECTED. THE ONGOING COVID-19 SITUATION IS CAUSING WORLDWIDE DISRUPTION ON MANY LEVELS, AND YOUR FESTIVAL, ORGANISATION AND LIFE WILL CERTAINLY HAVE BEEN IMPACTED BY THE EFFECTS OF THE VIRUS.

There’s a lot of uncertainty in the live events industry currently, with most events around the world having been cancelled or postponed for the time being, and as such, many members of our network are currently working hard to re-schedule and re-book their events for later dates. Many of the orchestras, ensembles and organisations that have taken the pledge are unable to rehearse, perform and work at the moment and while we hope that eventually, good will come of this situation, we understand fully what a difficult and disappointing time this is for many members of the Keychange network.

With more than 300 music festivals and organisations making up the Keychange network, we’d like to invite everyone to join together at this difficult time to support each other in whichever ways they’re able to.

We’ll be collecting information and resources relating to festivals, venues, events, live workers and music organisations and sharing them with all of our signatories via the below list and our newsletter. We’d like to invite everyone participating in Keychange to send over local information, links, support networks and funding advice so that we can create a comprehensive list of news and guidance for the entire Keychange network to access. We’ve started the ball rolling with some information below – please get in touch with francine@keychange.eu if you’re able to help us expand this list by submitting links from your own country, field and genre.

If you are a Keychange signatory and your event or organisation has been disrupted by the Coronavirus situation, please let us know by completing this short form.

And finally, we’d love to share some positive and encouraging stories, so if you’d like to share your organisation’s experiences, challenges and solutions in a blog post that could help to guide and support others through this difficult period, then get in touch with Francine and we’ll make it happen!

Stay safe everyone – we look forward to keeping in touch, and keep checking this post as we update it with helpful resources on a daily basis.
